Zilveren Camera 2024

& Pize for Storytelling

The best Dutch
photos from 2024

News photography captures everything happening in society, highlights emerging issues, and documents developments that shape our collective memory. The Zilveren Camera is the most important award for photojournalists in the Netherlands and is traditionally presented first at Fotomuseum Hilversum. For multimedia projects and autonomous photography, there is a special Zilveren Camera category: Storytelling. The three winners are shown here. All winning photos, as well as the works of the other nominees, were on view during this exhibition.

Professional photographers in the Netherlands, photography students in their final year, and foreign photographers living or working in the Netherlands were eligible to submit their photos from 2024.

The winner of the Zilveren Camera 2024 is Remko de Waal, with his photo “On the way to Gold.” It shows Sifan Hassan during the Olympic marathon in Paris.
