Fotomuseum Hilversum
Fotomuseum Hilversum is the leading museum for news and documentary photography in the Netherlands. We create exhibitions about the world of today and collaborate with partners such as World Press Photo and Stichting De Zilveren Camera.
For our marketing and communications team, we are looking for an intern who enjoys figuring out who our audience is, how we reach them, and how we can improve our communication.
What will you be doing?
During this internship, you will help us gain better insight into our audience reach, both online and within the museum itself. You will work with data we already have and contribute ideas on how we can gather and use new insights.
Among other things, you will:
Collect and organize data, such as: visitor numbers, social media interactions, results from surveys and audience inquiries, and figures from the website and newsletter.
Make this data clear in overviews, graphs, and charts. Assisting in setting up and improving audience research (for example, via QR codes or online surveys)
Thinking about how we can invite visitors to provide feedback.
Interpreting the data together with your supervisor: what do the numbers actually say, and what can we do with that information?
Making suggestions to improve our communication based on what you see in the data.
Assisting with daily marketing/communication activities.
Who are we looking for?
You are following an MBO-4 (theoretical) or HBO program, for example in marketing, communication, media, or a similar field.
You have an affinity with art, media, and culture.
You work in a structured and accurate manner.
You have basic knowledge of social media and online communication.
You can work with Canva, Microsoft Office, and AI programs.
You are not afraid to ask questions and contribute ideas.
What do we offer?
An internship where you are truly involved and make a visible contribution.
Good guidance and room to learn. Insight into marketing and communication within a museum.
A pleasant workplace in the heart of Hilversum.
Internship 3 days a week (2 days on location, 1 day from home).
Are you unsure if you are ‘suitable’?
Please do apply. Research shows that women and people with diverse cultural backgrounds often do not apply if they do not meet all the requirements. We find that unfortunate. At Fotomuseum Hilversum, we consider motivation, curiosity, and a willingness to learn more important than a CV that fits the job description 100%. We value different perspectives and backgrounds. Are you actually required to intern 4 days a week? Send your application anyway, and we will look for a suitable solution.
Interested?
Send a cover letter and your CV to marguerite@fotomuseumhilversum.nl. Your motivation can be in the form of a letter, but you may also present it in another creative way, showing why you want the internship and what you are good at.
