In conjunction with the exhibition BLOS, which interweaves photography and textiles, this edition of Beeldverhalen (Visual Stories) focuses on textiles and the photobook. Drawing on their own practices, three creators explore the relationship between photography, textiles, and the book as an object. What happens when photography is not merely viewed but also takes on a tactile form? And what possibilities does the photobook offer for bringing together material, image, and narrative? The creators discuss their working methods, choices, and experiments, using their own work as a starting point.

Annabel Oosteweeghel and Frank Visser share insights into their practices, while Ariane Toussaint discusses A Textile Room and The Big Tapestry Where We Come From, projects in which she investigates the intersections of textiles, domestic labor, domesticity, and women's history. Flora Madu addresses It’s a Different Reading When a Black Body Is in the Scene, a work exploring assumptions regarding clothing styles and the way we interpret a person's presence based on what they are wearing.

Moderated by curator Fiepke van Niel.
